Run the same three scripts in every tool. Use a 15-second hook, a 30-second product-benefit ad and a 45–60-second founder explainer, because a tool can look better simply because it got an easier prompt.
Watch the first three seconds before anything else. Strong face realism helps, but UGC ads fail quickly if the hook sounds flat, the mouth misses hard consonants, or the avatar feels too polished for a social feed.
Do the credit maths per tool, not across tools. Captions documents AI Ads and AI Creator at 1 credit per second, while Creatify documents AI Video Ads, Avatar Videos and AI Shorts at 5 credits per 15 seconds rounded up.
Separate HeyGen app usage from HeyGen API pricing. Its self-serve Creator plan is recorded at $29, but API generation has its own per-minute pricing, so mixing the two can make the cost model misleading.
Check export rules before judging value. HeyGen’s $29 Creator plan includes watermark removal and 1080p export, while Creatify’s free plan exports with a watermark, so a free render is not always a usable ad asset.
Treat UGC-style endorsements carefully. If the avatar presents a testimonial, product claim or material connection, the claim needs to be honest, supportable and clearly disclosed where required.
